TENUTA ROVEGLIA

The origins of the property date back to 1404, when the Roveglio family purchased lands and farmhouses from the Monastery of San Salvatore in Brescia (today known as Santa Giulia).

This is how the estate first took shape, but the family’s winemaking journey began only at the end of the nineteenth century, when Federico Zweifel moved from Switzerland to Italy and fell in love with Lake Garda. Captivated by its lush landscapes and fertile soils — a land perfectly suited to vine cultivation, and in particular, to the native Turbiana grape. Federico Zweifel began acquiring land, transforming those often-abandoned fields into orderly vineyards.

Four generations later, sisters Sara, Vanessa, and Babettli Azzone now run the family business with the help of Paolo Fabiani — now the winery’s director. With Paolo’s lead, the winery follows a combination of tradition, innovation, and scientific insight which has shaped Tenuta Roveglia into a modern winery deeply rooted in its heritage.

Every bottle of Tenuta Roveglia is the result of a process that combines tradition, innovation, and passion for the land. The vineyards, rooted in the heart of Lugana, extend over glacial soils, unique in their composition and ability to give the wines freshness, minerality, and elegance. Cultivation follows sustainable principles, respecting nature's cycles and preserving the ecosystem's balance.
